Roadway debris can be very dangerous to drivers on the road. Here’s a story, very similar to many cases. A woman was traveling westbound in a Toyota Camry on Highway 124 when she approached some
debris scattered on the road. The 58 year old woman panicked and swerved to avoid it and crossed over the center line, hitting another vehicle.
The driver hit the Jeep Cherokee around 10:30 p.m. on a Saturday. The driver and passenger of the Camry suffered serious injuries. Both were airlifted to nearby hospitals. The driver of the Cherokee was admitted at Harborview, listed in satisfactory condition.
Thankfully, there were not any fatalities in this accident. Too often, people get ahead of themselves and pile too much stuff into their trucks and fail to cover it properly. This is a huge danger as it can lead to serious or fatal accidents.
The
Davis Law Group wants to remind you to always be cautious when traveling with items in your truck bed. This is a big time of year for moving kids home from college, having garage sales and doing yard work, so you need to be very cautious of the people around you and the items they are towing to
avoid roadway debris accidents. Be observant and stay away from a vehicle that appears to not have their belongings tied down securely.
