PUYALLUP - One person was killed in a two car, hit and run accident this morning on State Route 167 (River Road East). The accident happened at the three way intersection of 48th Street East, River Road East and 66th Avenue East. Apparently one of the cars cars failed to stop for the red light and slammed into the other. Witnesses say the driver of a black Honda got out of his car, looked at the wreckage then got back in his car and drove off. A witness followed the car got the license plate number and called police. State troopers suspect that alcohol was a factor in the crash. The suspect has been jailed in Tacoma. The driver of the other vehicle was pronounced dead at St. Joseph Hospital in Tacoma.
