A girl is recovering after a police dog bit her while she was at high school. The dog escaped from a patrol vehicle. The handler of the dog and two other officers were operating a gun safety presentation at the high school.
After the students ran to alert the officers that the dog was loose, it had already bitten and scratched the 15-year-old girl. She was taken to the hospital but was not seriously injured.
The officers said that the dog must have been let out of the vehicle. After further investigation, it was reported that the spring-loaded that electronically controlled the door had failed, which is how the
dog was able to escape the 2011 Ford Expedition.
