Police Chase on I-5 Leads to Fatality in Dupont, WA

A man died this morning in Dupont while trying to get away from police when he lost control of his pickup on I-5.

A trooper began chasing the man near Marvin Road when he saw the truck swerve and cut off a semi-truck. He was driving more than 80 mph and was changing lanes without signaling.

While speeding away from the trooper, he lost control when he swerved to avoid a Department of Transportation sign.

He veered across I-5, rolled over, and was ejected from his truck. He died at the scene. The truck was also stolen from the Tacoma area.
