One man was killed in a fatal motorcycle accident in Pierce County early Sunday morning.

According to Washington State Patrol, around 3:30 a.m. Sunday, a Tacoma man driving a Toyota 4-Runner northbound on State Route 7 crossed into the southbound lanes to pass two cars. One of the cars drove into the northbound lanes to avoid the 4Runner, moved back into the southbound lane and hit the motorcyclist.

The motorcyclist, a Shoreline resident, was thrown from his motorcycle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the 4Runner was arrested on charges of DUI and vehicular homicide.
