Outcome: One with life-threatening injuries
A woman suffered life threatening injuries in a Seattle pedestrian accident Friday morning.
She was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
A car was driving east on Northeast 45th Street when according to the Seattle Fire Department, the woman who was standing on the southeast corner of northeast 45th Street and 36th Avenue northeast stepped into the crosswalk and was hit.
Police responded to the accident, giving CPR to the injured woman and was later taken to Harborview by medics from Seattle Fire Department.
The accident is still being investigated by police.
Pedestrian statistics from the National Highway Traffic Safety Association show that pedestrian fatalities make up nearly 11 percent of vehicle fatalities. Those same statstics also show that a pedestrian is injured about every eight minutes.
