A pedestrian was injured when they were struck by a car in Blyn on Friday night.A 68-year-old man was driving eastbound on Highway 101 just before 9:30 p.m. when he struck a pedestrian that was walking in the roadway.
The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. No one else was injured.
The eastbound lane of the highwasy closed for over two hours. Washington State Patrol reported that there are charges pending for the pedestrian on suspicion of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of the crash.

Fortunately, the number of reported injuries involving pedestrians fell from 84,000 in 1995 to 64,000 in 2005. However, only a fraction of pedestrian crashes that cause injury are ever recorded by the police.
