A pedestrian injury was the result of a hit-and-run accident in the Fremont neighborhood in Seattle Sunday.

The pedestrian was taken to Harborview Medical Center with serious injuries; two others in the SUV were also taken to Harborview as an extra precaution.

According to Seattle Police Spokeswoman Renee Witt, the driver of a red Chevy Nova hit an SUV at Dayton and N. 39th Street.

The pedestrian was standing on the southwest corner of the intersection when she was knocked unconscious by flying debris from the accident.

The driver of the Chevy Nova ran off leaving a passenger in his car. He may be suffering from a head injury.
