Pedestrian Hit by Drunk Driver in Bellevue

A woman was struck by a car driven by a 28-year-old alcohol-impaired man while she was crossing the street in Bellevue Wednesday morning, police say. According to accident reports, the 60-year-old woman was crossing the street in the 15200 block of NE 20th Street in Bellevue just before 7:30 Wednesday morning when she was hit by a car that failed to slow down at all.

Police said the woman was not using a crosswalk to cross the road, but found that the 28-year-old man was intoxicated upon investigation. He was arrested for investigation of DUI and vehicular assault, and the woman was taken to Overlake Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Her current condition at the hospital and the extent of her injuries are unknown.
