A teenage girl was injured in a pedestrian accident around 6:15 Wednesday evening in East Wenatchee.

She was taken to Central Washington Hospital and was later transported to Harborview Medical Center where she suffered from head and other possible injuries. She was in critical condition in the ICU.

According to East Wenatchee Police, the girl was thought to have stepped out in front of a 2007 Nissan Maxima on Grant Road near North Georgia Avenue.

The driver who hit the girl, an elderly Wenatchee man, told police he didn't see the girl until it was too late.

The man is not thought to have been at fault but the accident is still under investigation.
