About six miles east of Ellensburg, one person was killed and several others suffered from injuries in two separate pile-up accidents. The eastbound lanes of the freeway were closed for several hours late last night.
WSP trooper said that that smoke from a brush fire started in the median and blew across the lanes of the freeway, which made it difficult for drivers to see and started a
chain-reaction accident.
In the first chain-reaction involved a car and two trucks. One of the truck drivers was killed and another driver was rushed to the hospital with serious injuries.
The second crash involved seven vehicles causing several injuries.
About 50 gallons of diesel spilled.
There is still no word on what started the grass fire.
Davis Law Group sends condolences to the friends and family of the victim whose life was taken from him. We hope everyone obtains a full recovery from their injuries.
