Around 5:02 PM on Wednesday evening, a vehicle left Highway 103 and rolled, ejecting
the driver from the vehicle. The accident occurred about three miles south of Ocean Park.
The driver, Tyler Schmitz, 26, was not wearing a seat belt and after the vehicle rolled twice
he was thrown from the vehicle, landing in the center of the road.
After being tested for drugs and alcohol, Schmitz was charged with driving under the influence. He was taken to Ocean Beach Hospital and then transferred to Emmanuel Hospital in Portland.
