One person was injured Sunday evening after a seemingly minor collision led to a five-vehicle accident on Interstate 90.
According to the Washington State Patrol, the accident was preceded by a small rear-end collision in which a pickup truck ran into the back of an SUV causing an accident near Cle Elum, approximately 77 miles east of Bellevue on I-90. Reports indicate that 43-year-old John Holk was driving his 2006 Dodge Ram westbound when he struck the back of 65-year-old Mary Moorman’s 2012 Honda CRV.
The initial collision pushed Moorman’s SUV into the vehicle in front of her, which then caused two additional vehicles to collide with each other. In all, five vehicles were damaged in the motor vehicle accident on Interstate 90 east of Bellevue.
Moorman was taken to the Kittitas Valley Community Hospital to be treated for her injuries from the car accident. No other drivers were injured in the wreck, and Holk was cited for driving too fast for traffic conditions.
