One person was injured in a motorcycle accident near La Center on Tuesday afternoon.


While riding his motorcycle south on State Route 503, 58-year-old Raymond Turney was struck by northbound 60-year-old Susan Curry when she attempted to make a left turn onto 269th Street.

Turney was taken to an area hospital with a broken left hip and right arm. Curry was uninjured.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the incident and cited Curry for failing to yield the right of way.

  • Nine out of 10 motorcycle deaths in 1998 were males. Seventy-seven percent of the females who died in a motorcycle crash were passengers and 98% of males who died were drivers.
