One woman is dead and another injured in a fatal car accident on Interstate 82 Saturday around 3 a.m.

Angelica Barajas, a Grandview resident, was pronounced dead at the scene. Her passenger, Stephanie C. Vega also of Grandview, was taken to Sunnyside Community Hospital for injuries along with the driver of the car that hit the women, Edward E. Castilleja.

According to Washington State Patrol, Barajas was driving her 2007 Chrysler 300 eastbound on I-82 when she was hit head-on by Castilleja in his 2008 Chevrolet Pickup truck.

Drugs and alcohol were believed to be a factor in this accident, but is still under investigation.
