One dead after snowplow collision in Spokane

A pickup truck crashed into a parked snowplow on Tuesday night around 9 p.m. and instantly burst into flames. According to Washington State Patrol there seemed to be only one person in the truck, but the wreckage was so badly charred from the explosion that neither the license plate of vehicle identification numbers were legible. The snowplow was unoccupied and pulled off onto the side of the highway with its lights on during the time of the crash.

A witness claimed that the pickup was going at least 80 m.p.h. before it hit the snowplow and exploded on impact. A special investigation team from Western Washington was sent to the scene and the southbound lanes of Highway 195 were closed throughout the night and up until the next morning. No further information about the cause of the collision is available.
