All commercial motor coach buses will soon all have seatbelts, if The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration proposal is passed. Their mandatory seatbelt law proposal was provoked by the great danger of multiple causalities that can result from bus crashes, with the concern of the
ejection of passengers from the bus.
The proposed rule would require that all newly manufactured commercials need to have
lap-shoulder belts.
In Washington State, it is not a law to wear a seat belt on commercial buses. However, the bus driver must wear one.
Do you think this seat belt proposal should pass? Tell us what you think.
