New Treatment For Chronic Back Pain From Car Accident Injuries

Many thousands of people live each day with chronic back or leg pain that was caused by a car accident.  And I have seen hundreds of car accident victims in my practice.  Many try numerous treatments in their search for pain relief.  Often surgery is a final option for pain relief because patients lose their ability to move normally.

However, there's a new option made by a local company being tested in Seattle.

Several Seattle neurosurgeons are conducting tests of a new device called the TFAS, made by a Redmond-based company. It's designed to provide stability without sacrificing function.  In early clinical trial results are encouraging. The trial is currently recruiting patients.  Two thirds of trial participants will receive the TFAS device; the other third will receive a standard spinal fusion operation.  Two local facilities are participating in the trial: Seattle Neuroscience Institute at Swedish Medical Center and Orthopedics International.
