A five-car accident injured one person, blocking the majority of northbound traffic on Interstate 5 just south of downtown Seattle Wednesday afternoon. Traffic was backed up for five miles.

The accident took place near the Spokane Street exit around 12:30 in the afternoon. During the course of this accident, three of the northbound lanes were blocked by the accident including about 12 emergency vehicles.

Around two in the afternoon, traffic was backed up all the way to the south end of Boeing Field near Boeing Access Road.

According to Washington State Patrol, only one person was injured in this large accident. The person complained of a minor neck injury.
