A 42-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a car while riding her motorcycle on Thursday night in the Lakewood Crossing area of North Marysville. She was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center with severe head injuries.

An on-duty Marysville police officer was driving behind the two vehicles during the time of the accident. The driver of the car was uninjured and cooperated with authorities and was taken to a local hospital to undergo routine blood testing for alcohol or drugs.

The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
