A motorcyclist died after a Staples delivery truck made a left turn into his path on the roadway.

“He saw the motorcycle but thought he had enough time to make the turn,” Humble Police Department Sgt. Ken Theis said. “He was unable to do so and the motorcycle operator struck the back right portion of the truck.”

The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet was died at the scene. No charges or citations were immediately issued, pending the conclusion of the investigation.

“Preliminarily, the truck driver appears to be at fault for failure to yield right of way while making a left turn,” he said.

The police reported that speed was not a factor in the accident.
