A 51-year-old man was heading westbound on Highway 112 near Port Angeles when another vehicle heading the opposite direction struck him. The other driver, a 40-year-old man from Port Angeles veered into the eastbound lane near the Nordstrom Road intersection and crashed into the motorcycle.

The motorcyclist suffered head, wrist, and internal injuries and had to be airlifted to Harborview Medical Center while the other driver was taken to Olympic Medical Center with head, neck and rib injuries. Both vehicles were destroyed, and Washington State Patrol says that alcohol and drugs were not a factor but charges are pending against the at-fault driver.
