Motorcycle accident on West Seattle Bridge

The westbound lanes of the West Seattle Bridge remained closed at 5:30 p.m. while Seattle Police investigated an afternoon motorcycle crash.

A witness reported seeing the motorcycle hit a guardrail and spill both riders onto the road, police said. Seattle Police and firefighters were called to the crash about 2:20 p.m.
The motorcycle driver and passenger -- one man is his 20s and another in his 30s -- suffered leg fractures and were rushed to Harborview Medical Center, Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick said. Their injuries were not life threatening, she said."Speed may have been a factor, according to witnesses," police spokesman Mark Jamieson said.
Seattle Department of Transportation spokesman Casey Hanewall said the lanes would be blocked until the police investigate concluded. Jamieson said officers were aiming to have it finished before 7 p.m.

"Going westbound, cars are able to exit on the Delridge the Harbor and or Avalon exits and finally on Admiral Way," he said. "The eastbound lanes remain open."
