A 21 year old monorail pilot at Walt Disney World was killed when two monorails collided. The mother of the boy filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Walt Disney Parks and Resorts.
The
wrongful death collision happened when the monorail train was backing along a train switch that was supposed to realign but didn’t. Since the train never realigned, the train drove in reverse and hit the other train that was going forward. Disney states that the pilot was told to go in reverse and that before the accident that killed the pilot the track switch had aligned properly.
