Every city has intersections that are dangerous for pedestrians and cyclists. In larger cities such as Tacoma and Seattle, there may be more than one intersection. In Tacoma, the most dangerous intersection is 19th Street & Orchard Street.
These dangerous intersections can be a huge threat to families walking through with their children or people who live nearby that run through this intersection.
Due to startling statistics of these dangerous intersections, some cities will decide to make a change. For example, a dangerous intersection in Lynwood was the scene of many pedestrian accidents. Therefore, the City of Lynnwood decided to make a walking bridge for pedestrians and cyclists. The bridge is to be completed this month. Perhaps this is an option that Tacoma will look into.
