Three years ago, in June 2008, Savannah Vincent died at Lafayette Hospital. The 5-year-old
girl died of brain injuries.
Just last year, her father and step mother were accused of second degree murder of the young girl.
Amber Vincent, the girl’s mother, is now suing the state of Louisiana for the
wrongful death of her child. Vince says the Department of Social Services did not provide an adequate response to complaints of child abuse. Vince says her purpose in the lawsuit it to ensure that victims of child abuse get the protection they need, which could save their lives.
The State Attorney General’s Office and/or the Department of Social Services have not yet released a statement regarding the newly filed lawsuit.
Davis Law Group sends sincere condolences to the mother of young Amber. We wish you all the best in your fight for justice.
