Metro Bus Incident Marks Third in Four Days

A 47-year-old woman was hit by a Metro bus Sunday afternoon near Third Avenue and Pine Street – the same intersection where a 51-year-old woman was hit by a Metro bus Thursday morning. Police were nearby and rushed to check on the woman, who was transported to Harborview Medical Center. She reportedly suffered from a large laceration on the back of her head but had no life-threatening injuries.

This marks the third incident in four days involving pedestrians being struck by a Metro bus in the area – a woman was hit by a bus Thursday morning in Seattle, followed by another in Bellevue that evening that lead to a fatality. According to police, the woman involved in Sunday’s incident was crossing the street against a “Don’t Walk” signal. The woman involved in the Thursday morning incident also crossed when the bus driver had a green light and the right of way.

Police are still investigating the details of the fatal incident in Bellevue.
