Man on a Motorized Wheelchair Struck by a Community Transit Bus l Seattle Bus/Pedestrian Attorney

An 86-year-old man in a motorized wheelchair was seriously injured after he was hit by a bus. Apparently he was crossing the street in a crosswalk when the accident occurred. The transit bus was turning right onto Marine Drive from the community center when the bus struck the man. The Warm Beach Senior Community resident was pinned beneath the wheels of a Community Transit bus. Firefighters used the jaws of life to jack the bus up and pull the man out. The man was taken by helicopter to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with life-threatening injuries. Crash detectives from the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office will investigate along with Community Transit officials.
