Man Killed in Redmond Pedestrian Crash
An off-duty Redmond police officer witnessed a car accident that took the life of a man Thursday night. According to reports, the officer was filling up his gas tank at approximately 10 p.m. when he heard tires squealing, looked up and saw a vehicle braking hard to avoid hitting a pedestrian who was in the road on Redmond Way.
The pedestrian, whose name has not yet been released, was found unresponsive by the off-duty officer and died at the scene of the accident. Police do not believe that the driver, a 26-year-old man, committed any crimes in the collision. The pedestrian was reportedly nowhere near a crosswalk and police say that the driver has cooperated fully with police.
