Man Killed In McDonald's Parking Lot | Injury Trial Lawyer

Shortly after noon yesterday, April 26th, a 67 year old man was killed in the McDonalds parking lot on NW Market street when a woman backed her car out of a parking spot and backed over the man.

Police spokeswoman Renee Witt said the driver was screened at the scene for signs of alcohol or drug impairment but did not appear to be impaired. She was released from the scene pending further investigation.

Officers investigating the incident said that the man was run over and subsequently pinned under the woman’s car, a 1997 Pontiac Grand Am. Police also said that as soon as the driver became aware that someone beneath her car, she immediately stopped. Officers feared that moving the car would cause further injury to the man; however officers were able to lift the car and pull the man out.

Seattle Fire Department medics administered first aid at the scene but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
Under their initial investigation, police had not ruled out that the man collapsed on the pavement before he was struck, however he may have also been walking through the parking lot at the time of incident. 

The car was impounded to the police evidence garage for further investigation and the victim's identity was not immediately disclosed.
