On Tuesday night, a man was killed after fleeing from Washington State Patrol near Moses Lake.
A State Trooper had pulled 40-year-old David Folden over for a seat belt violation, but when he came near the car he smelled marijuana. When he asked Folden to step out of the car so that he could arrest him, he sped off.
Washington State Patrol pursued Folden until he lost control over his car and slid off the road into a concrete irrigation structure. An aid crew found a bag that apparently contained drugs in his mouth before performing CPR. Folden was pronounced dead at the scene.
Authorities are still investigating the details of the collision but the main causing factor is believed to be the driver operating a vehicle while under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol.
