Man falls asleep, rear-ends semi on I-82

Around 4:45 am on Tuesday morning, while driving on westbound Interstate 82 near Ellensburg, Gregory A. Myers, 37, fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a semi truck trailer. The semi-truck continued driving but Myers' car came to a stop in the westbound lanes.

Myers' suffered a broken arm and leg and was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he was listed in satisfactory condition. He will receive tickets for second-degree negligent driving and driving with a suspended license.

The crash is still being investigated, authorities do not yet know if alcohol or drugs were involved. The Peterbilt semi truck did not stop after the wreck and police are trying to locate the driver and any other witnesses that saw the collision. Driving with a suspended license
It is unlawful for any person to drive a motor vehicle in this state while that person is in a suspended or revoked status or when his or her privilege to drive is suspended or revoked in this or any other state.
