Man falls asleep, rear-ends semi on I-82

Around 4:45 am on Tuesday morning, while driving on westbound Interstate 82 near Ellensburg, Gregory A. Myers, 37, fell asleep at the wheel and rear-ended a semi truck trailer. The semi-truck continued driving but Myers' car came to a stop in the westbound lanes.

Myers' suffered a broken arm and leg and was transported to Harborview Medical Center where he was listed in satisfactory condition. He will receive tickets for second-degree negligent driving and driving with a suspended license.

The crash is still being investigated, authorities do not yet know if alcohol or drugs were involved. The Peterbilt semi truck did not stop after the wreck and police are trying to locate the driver and any other witnesses that saw the collision.
