A man was injured on Tuesday night after driving his car off an overpass in Seattle.

Around 2 a.m. a 23-year-old man drove his car off an overpass on Northeast 80th Street, crashed through a small fence, heading down an embankment before coming to a rest in the southbound lanes of Interstate 5.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical center with non life-threatening injuries and was later taken into custody.

Washington State Patrol is investigating the accident as a drunk driving case. Troopers at the scene stated that they smelled alcohol on the driver and arrested him for suspicion of DUI.
