An Everett pedestrian died after he was hit by a car while attempting to cross the street Thursday evening.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center, where he died later that evening.

According to Washington State Patrol trooper Keith Leary, the man was crossing Airport Road despite a do-not-walk signal around 5:45p.m. in wet and windy weather when he walked in front of a Cadillac.

The driver of the Cadillac, a Lynwood resident, had a green light and was not found to be at fault.

Traffic was tied up for almost two hours at the Evergreen Way and Airport Road intersection due to the accident.
