A speeding car hit a Newcastle man’s pickup from behind at 11:30 p.m. on May 22nd. The crash left the driver of the pickup in critical condition after he suffered serious injuries.
According to Washington State Patrol investigators, the accident took place southwest of Issaquah, on state Route 900 near 172nd Place Southeast.
The 25-year-old woman driving the Ford Focus was headed eastbound on SR 900 when she collided with the Ford pickup driven by the 35-year-old Newcastle man.
After being struck by the Ford Focus, the pickup truck flew down into a ditch where it flipped and landed on its roof. The Focus finally came to a stop in the front yard of a nearby residence, stated troopers.
The Newcastle man was transported by medics to Harborview Medical Center for treatment. He was not wearing a seat belt during the time of the crash. The female driver of the Ford Focus suffered minor injuries and was treated at the scene and later released.
The accident is still under investigation.
