Icy Roads Lead to Accidents Across Puget Sound

In the aftermath of the record breaking snow storm, icy roads led to the death of a Gig Harbor woman on Monday morning. The 44-year old woman had pulled over to assist other drivers who had spun out when she was struck and killed just after 5 AM. 

A state trooper was also helping at the scene of the accident on westbound Highway 16. He was struck by another vehicle while outside his patrol car. He was taken to a hospital and suffered a knee injury.

The victims of the initial accident suffered minor injuries in the multiple-vehicle accident. Due to the collision, the westbound lanes of Highway 16 were shut down for several hours.
