A motorcyclist was injured in a crash with a truck carrying a water tanker on I-5 Wednesday afternoon.

The motorcyclist was seriously injured and was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center, his condition is unknown.

According to Washington State Patrol, the accident took place around 1:45 p.m. on I-5 near Arlington.

A construction truck hauling a water tanker pulled out in front of the motorcyclist which was heading northbound, causing the motorcycle to crash.

Traffic was backed up for more than 15 miles. All lanes on I-5 were re-opened around 4 p.m. after troopers had finished the investigation.
