Honda Waited 4 Years to do Recall for Defected Airbags

Another Honda recall is affecting 273,000 Honda vehicles for defective air-bag deployment systems. Since 2008, there have been four major Honda recalls. The airbag defect could be the cause of 18 injuries and 2 deaths, as acknowledged by Honda. It is reported that the driver’s side air bag may deploy too forcefully, sending metal shards into the driver.

There have been more than 2 million vehicles recalled for faulty airbags. This recall will affect:

• 2001-2 Accords

• 2001-3 Civic and Odyssey

• 2002-3 CR-V

• 2003 Pilot

• 2003 Acura 3.2 TL

• 2003 Acura 3.2 CL

There are also other some other models as well. However, Honda waited four years to do the recall. The company had to go back 12 years to examine all the data and the errors regarding the air-bag propellant lots. Even though people’s safety was at risk, they continued to stall.
