A pedestrian was hit by a car crossing the street in his wheelchair. The disabled
pedestrian later died from his injuries, including spinal cord fractures.
The victim was crossing 15th Avenue at West Garfield Street around noon yesterday when a driver did not stop for him and then sped away from the scene. The man was thrown from his wheelchair.
The
driver was later identified and arrested in Ballard. He is in King County Jail for investigation of vehicular assault. Since the victim died from his injuries, the
hit and run driver's charges could increase.
Davis Law Group sends sincere condolences to the friends and family of the victim.
