On State Route 223 at Bailey Avenue in Granger, a semi truck hit a car head-on sending the car’s driver to a Yakima hospital.
Around 1 p.m., the Freightliner semi was traveling southbound on the highway when the driver crossed into the northbound, according to the Washington State Patrol.
The truck, driven by 60-year-old Robert E. Williams of Riddle, Ore., hit Marla Bellinger, 72, of Sunnyside in her Buick LeSabre, which was headed northbound on the highway.
Troopers were expecting to give Williams a ticket for second-degree negligent driving.
