Head-On Collision Caused by Texting

A teenage male driver was in a head-on crash while texting Tuesday in Vancouver, Washington. The collisions left him with traumatic injuries.

According to Spokeswoman Dawn Johnson, the teen aged driver, who was identity was not revealed, was traveling northbound in a Mitsubishi Eclipse when he swerved into southbound oncoming traffic and collided with a GMC Sierra truck. Both drivers were fortunate to survive and as both cars were severely damaged from accident and 

The teenager was taken to Southwest Washington Medical Center for his injuries and the truck driver was taken to the same hospital for further evaluation.

The young man's mother said her son was texting her when he collided with the truck. In Washington State, texting while driving as well as talking on the phone without a hands free device will officially be a primary offense on June 10th. Texting while driving is very dangerous, as this accident has shown, and lead to serious injuries.
