An off-duty Seattle police officer was taken to a hospital Tuesday night when another driver watching a GPS unit caused a crash with the officer's SUV, officials said. The officer was checked out as a precaution, but she was not seriously injured.
Police said the two drivers were northbound on Aurora Avenue and the other driver, who is from out of town, was watching his GPS unit when it told him to turn right at the intersection with Roy Street.
The man was in the inside lane on Aurora and turned directly in front of the officer's SUV, according to police.
The officer had no time to stop and
hit the side of the man's vehicle, causing it flip on its side. He was not hurt.
Davis Law Group is relieved to hear that no one was seriously injured in this distracted driving collision.
