Driving a motorcycle in the state of Washington without an endorsement is against the law, yet many people still break this law. By driving unendorsed, you are a huge threat to yourself and other drivers on the road due to being uneducated.
If you are aware that someone you know is an
unendorsed driver, there are a few things you can do to encourage them to become endorsed.
Here’s a few ideas:
1. Talk to them about the benefits of being endorsed, along with the drawbacks of not, including how important it is in regards to safety.
2. Send them articles online on
motorcycle endorsements. There are several articles on endorsements that will educate them (if they don’t want to listen to you).
3. If you are a member of a riding club or group, take a survey to see how many people are endorsed riders. You may be surprised to see how many are not endorsed. This is a good opportunity to discuss the dangers of riding illegally.
4. Refuse to ride with others that are unendorsed. This is comparable to driving in a vehicle with an unlicensed driver.
If you are riding without an endorsement, please take the time to get one.
Davis Law Group strongly encourages safe driving on Washington State roadways, especially for those riding motorcycles. This form of transportation is dangerous enough, without those riding illegally.
