First Day of Viaduct Closure Means More Accidents on Interstate 5

Viaduct closure, big headache for commuters
Today was the first day of the viaduct closure for work commuters. This forced drivers to take I-5, which caused many accidents both directions on the freeway.

The accidents at Mercer Street caused major backups into downtown Seattle. The first collision happened before 5 a.m., caused by heavy rain showers. The crashes were cleared from the interstate by 6:20 a.m.

Be patient during this time, in order to prevent any accidents or injury. We all must give ourselves more commuting time to avoid any collisions.
