A fatal car accident left a woman dead in Sumner Saturday morning.

Jennifer Carino, a Sumner resident died at the scene of the accident.

According to East Pierce County Fire and Rescue, the accident took place just before two in the morning Saturday on Traffic Avenue and Thompson Street in Sumner.

Firefighters from the East Pierce County Fire and Rescue responded to the scene of the accident where Carino, who was driving her Sedan, had crashed into a traffic pole.

She was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.

The cause of the accident is still being investigated by Sumner Police.

I agree that after the emotional distress the family feels of losing a loved one, the distress of having to settle the expenses afterwards will slowly set in. This is even more troubling when the person involved in the accident is dead and the family members are the only ones left to answer to the various parties submitting the claims. Jenny had a really good spirt. She was fun to be around always positive never talked bad about anyone. She will be missed and I hope her family and chirs stay strong during this hard time
