A Kent man stepped in front of a Sounder commuter train yesterday evening around 5:40 p.m. The 46-year-old man died from injuries. The accident occurred at the intersection of West Meeker Street and the Burlington Northern Railroad crossing.
The Kent Police Commander said that the warning signals were working so it unknown why he walked in front of the train. After the
pedestrian collision the train immediately stopped and blocked many rail crossings through downtown for nearly an hour.
There were several delays after the fatal accident. The investigation of the accident will continue.
