Type: Motorcycle Accident
Date: April 18, 2010, 04/18/10
Location: Port Angeles
Outcome: One death
A motorcyclist died from motorcycle accident injuries in Port Angeles Sunday evening.
After attempts to revive John M. Fullerton of Port Angeles, medics took him to Olympic Medical Center. He was then airlifted to Harborview Medical Center where he later died.
The motorcycle accident took place after Fullerton, who was riding southbound on State Highway 117 with a group of motorcyclists, suddenly veered off the road. He was found by medics seriously injured in a ditch on the west side of the road. His Harley-Davidson which was heavily damaged was nearby.
It is unclear why Fullerton left the road and the accident is still under investigation. It is not yet known if drugs or alcohol were involved in this accident.
Fullerton leaves behind a wife and 10 year old son.
Nearly 5,000 people died in motorcycle accidents in 2006 in the United States alone.
Our hearts go out to his wife, son and other family members. They are in our thoughts and prayers.
