A teenage Tenino boy died in a fatal washington car accident on Highway 121 Sunday late afternoon.

The accident took place just south of the entrance to Millersylvania State Park around 3:45 p.m.

According to Washington State Patrol spokeswoman Brandy Kessler, the teen was driving a 1993 Toyota Tercel southbound when he left the road to the right. He avoided a pole and swerved back on the road into oncoming traffic.

A northbound Lexus RX330 hit the Tercel on it's passenger side. The driver of the Lexus, also from Tenino, was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia as a precaution.

There were no passengers in either of the cars.

It is not known why the teen veered off the road in the first place.
