Date: June 4-6
Location: Interstate 5 near Lakewood
Type: Road Work
As an early warning, if you are planning northbound on Interstate and live south of Tacoma, you are in for delays.
The Washington State Department of Transportation has scheduled more weekend lane closures on I-5 to replace stretches of bad pavement. Two or three lanes will closed at times from 9 p.m. Friday until Sunday morning around 8 a.m.
Two weeks ago, the last round of closures caused severe backups where drivers were forced to endure back ups as long as ten miles. This weekend, there are several events taking place that may add to the congestion. Both the Mariners and Sounders are playing in Seattle on Saturday. In addition, the Special Olympics Summer Games are being held at Joint Base Lewis-McChord through the weekend.
When traffic congestion becomes a serious problem, car and truck accidents become much more likely when drivers allow themselves to get frustrated and impatient. Everyone at Davis Law Group would like to remind everyone who is traveling near the area of construction to allow plenty of extra travel time and be sure to stay calm.
