Erratic Driver Hit Motorcyclist in Fatal Head-on Collision, Founder of Zupan's Markets

fatal motorcycle accident
The CEO of Zupan’s Markets died in a motorcycle accident last night after being hit head-on by another driver.

The 66-year-old of Vancouver was riding his motorcycle when a 1998 Honda Civic crossed the center line and hit the motorcyclist.

The Civic’s driver was speeding, driving erratically and passing other vehicles before the fatal accident. The driver ran from the scene but police quickly captured him.

The driver is 32-years-old and it being held in the county detention center on suspicion of second-degree assault, DUI, reckless driving and hit-and-run driving.

The victim started his own produce market in 1975. The three markets in Portland are known for locally grown items.

The company remains to be family owned with the CEO now being his son Mike Zupan.

Davis Law Group
sends sincere condolences to the friends and family of the victim. We are deeply saddened by this preventable accident. May irresponsible drivers learn from this story.
